PORNOGRAPHY AND THE UNCONSCIOUS MIND

I intend to explore the mass production of sexual violence in pornography, how it links to the unconscious mind and the sexual urges/ disturbing material that are too threatening for us to fully acknowledge. 

Fighting porn in the age of ever present internet is hard. Every imaginable form of pornography is available just a click or two away.

I believe women should be able to enjoy true sexual freedom in the absence of violence. It continues to promote the idea of objectification and submission. I understand women have been sexually appressed for decades. However, I do not believe the way women are currently depicted in pornography is empowering. It's the opposite: degrading.

The Unconscious Mind is full of our hidden desires. It contains traumatic and powerful negative emotions which are repressed and not available in the conscious as they are too threatening to acknowledge. 

Our feelings, motives and desires are influenced by our unconscious.

Here, I will explore the ways in which women are exploited through pornography and how our unconscious behaviours and animalistic acts play a role within this.
