LANGUAGE AND SLANG TERMS USED TO DESCRIBE THE FEMALE BODY

I will explore how slang terms are used to describe female genitalia and how it adds to everyday misogyny. I want to explore different slang terms and euphemisms and why people are so afraid to use the correct terminology.

In an attempt to avoid vulgarity, society use offensive and degrading terminology to describe women’s genitalia. We need to openly speak about women’s bodies without shame so we can finally ditch these vulgar slang terms and celebrate our bodies using the correct language.

Here is my final presentation. I have tried to include humour as I think it's a very useful tool in opening up people's minds to other ways of thinking. Which I am trying to do through this short film.

I will be exploring a range of mediums and ways to visualise the language/ slang that is used to describe women’s bodies, in an attempt to highlight the ridiculousness of them. This is because these slang terms are built on masculinity and the patriarchy.

These terms and phrases shouldn't be used loosely in conversation as they are derogatory and demeaning and social media is saturated with them. The words are trophy-like when used by men because they see it as an achievement.
